The largest copper Buddha -- the future Buddha of Zhaxihunbu Monaste in Shigatse

The future Buddha of Zhaxihunbu Monaste is located in Shigatse, Tibet. It was cast in the early 20th century. At that time, it consumed more than 230,000 Jin of copper and 558 Jin of gold. The statue is 22.4 meters tall, and is situated on a 3.8 meter high lotus seat. It is 26.2 meters high, 11.5 meters wide, 4.2 meters long, 3.2 meters long, 1.2 meters circumferential to the middle finger and 2.8 meters long. It is a treasure in a huge sculpture. More than 1,400 diamonds, pearls, ambers, corals and otoliths are set in white filaments between the eyebrows of the Buddha statue, with more precious decorations. The statue was made by 110 craftsmen for 4 years.
